Jan (Verne)'s Story

While going to school my given name was Verne but several years ago I legally changed my name to Jan. I earned an associate degree in criminology and have worked and lived all over Northern and Western Canada. One of the jobs I loved most was working in a wilderness camp with Native and Eskimo boys in Northern Sask. I tought them personal and family life skills and they tought me how to survive in the wilderness. It was an amazing and wonderful experience for me. I suprised even myself by marrying and divorcing 3 times, all by age 33. A roller coaster ride for sure. I am basically a small town person and am now semi retired in the Fraser Valley. I have 3 children and five grand children. My grandchildren have been and still are the single ...Expand for more
most source of love and fun in my life. Here is my 2014 update though I don't suppose that any one is all that interested. After all it has been 50 plus years since we were all together in high school. Any way I am fully retired now. I read a lot. At the moment I seem to be addicted to westerns. I also paint with watercolours and like to garden on a small scale. One of my grand daughters recently had a child which means I am now a great grandmother. I never really thought about being a great grandmother until it actually happened. He's a delightful little tyke but I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Old I guess! I live a quiet lifestyle still in the Fraser Valley. I have basically always been a bit of a loner and not surprisingly still am.
